Presidential Outcome Votes that Debunk Conventional Wisdom

Here are two voting patterns that debunk conventional wisdom.

I. Obama Wins 8 of the Nation’s 10 Wealthiest Counties

CNBC concludes“President Barack Obama was favored over multimillionaire businessman Mitt Romney in eight of the nation’s 10 wealthiest counties.”

 II. States that Supported Governor Romney Receive Higher Return on Taxes than States which Supported Obama

The nonpartisan Tax Foundation reports that 26 states which went to Obama receive on average 98 cents back for every dollar in federal taxes paid. On the other hand, the states that provided their electoral votes to Romney receive on average $1.37 for every dollar in federal taxes paid. The data demonstrates that 15 of the 20 “taking states” supported Romney, most of them with high voting margins.
